About
Hi there! I'm AJ Chambeaud, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been working in software development since 2010, focusing on web technologies and building systems end to end.
I'm a big fan of music (heavy metal and beyond) and have been to hundreds of concerts in different countries. I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, and buying books (I consider the last two separate hobbies). Another long-term interest is Chinese internal martial arts, where I'll probably remain a beginner for life.
This is a brand new space where I try to gather my online presence and other scattered pieces in one place (talks, links, projects, and thoughts) away from the noise and promotional pressure of social media.
Inspirations
Some of my main inspirations for starting my own blog (though you shouldn't expect that level of quality or dedication here).
- olano.dev
Facundo is a friend and one of the most talented engineers I've worked with. His blog is very personal, with lots of interesting ideas about technology, book recommendations, magical realism, and obscure retro gaming stuff. I highly recommend it.
- overreacted.io
Dan is at this point something of a pop culture icon in the web development community. His blog is full of deep explanations about React internals and other web technologies, but also personal stories and reflections. I particularly like the reflective and philosophical tone of his writing.
- aphyr.com
Aphyr's "technical interview" series were probably some of the best tech writing I've ever read. You'll find lots of interesting and complex ideas on his blog. I come back from time to time to see what he's up to.
